The new Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 is introducing a number of changes and new instruments that Member States are preparing for and implementing in the more than 320 national, regional and territorial cooperation programmes. It will be crucial to set-up well-functioning and efficient management systems, to effectively implement management tools and to strengthen the administrative skills in order to optimise the management of the programmes and the absorption rate. The "European Conference: The New Cohesion Policy 2014-2020" taking place on 27 and 28 November in Brussels provides a perfect opportunity to receive first-hand information on these topics from high-level experts from EU institutions, Member States’ authorities and academia. During the two days, the main changes proposed by the European Commission will be discussed focusing on issues relevant for Programming & Management as well as for Financial Management & Control, which will be held in parallel sessions – accordingly, participants may choose between the sessions, which are of most relevance for their practical work. Furthermore, the main compliance areas of EU funds with State aid rules and public procurement rules respectively will be explored in detail.
