The seminar will illustrate new developments as well as recently introduced rules, and analyse in depth the main developments in and future challenges to state aid policy in the EU.
In practice problems often arise for all parties in terms of procedural matters and state aid recovery questions. In this respect, an extra session (the second day of the seminar) will present the new Procedural Regulation 2015/1589 and the new Implementing Regulation 2015/2282, discuss the implications of the overlong duration of state aid procedures, and highlight state aid recovery problems, pitfalls and responsibilities for both Member States and beneficiaries.
Case studies and the exchange of practical experiences with officials from EU institutions and Member States as well as lawyers from companies and legal consultants will be an integral aspect of the seminar.
