What happened to my boys? I am not referring to Austria or Switzerland (my teams from the two office Euro draws). But the shock of yesterday's Dutch quarter-final exit. I saw the game in a Dutch bar near Beurs with a bunch of friends. After five minutes we already felt quite nervous. There was that gnawing feeling about the match would turn out. Why oh why are we put through this agony every two years?

So much to do so little time to do it in. It is amazing how much junk gets amassed and needs sorting through in a relatively short period of time.

Out tonight with some visiting German lawyers watching the football in an Irish bar near Schuman. Relief is the word that most accurately sums up how they felt at the end. It was a lucky escape. They had confidently expected to reach the final beforehand. They were warned to keep a low profile as they made their way to their hotel.

Another day another semi-final. There is a tapas bar close to where I live so my boyfriend and I saw the game there. Tremendous atmosphere - so much singing. Really looking forward to the final; Spanish creativity versus German efficiency.
