"More than ever, clients are in need of knowledgeable and practical guidance from experienced practitioners like Jörg, particularly in view of a new, evolving legal framework in Europe and heavy sanctions in case of violation."

"Jörg Hladjk's broad-based skills in both EU and national issues will further enhance the Firm's ability to respond to the complex and multifaceted nature of cybersecurity and data protection issues confronting businesses on a global scale," said Daniel McLoon, leader of the Firm's global Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Practice. "Based in Brussels, the hub of EU legislative activity, Jörg will play a key role in our European practice and joins a team of more than 80 lawyers in Jones Day offices worldwide who support this multidisciplinary practice."

Dr. Hladjk is a graduate of Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Law School, where he also earned a Ph.D. in Data Protection Law and wrote "Online Profiling and Data Protection – taking the automotive industry as an example," which won the academic prize for best dissertation by the German association for data protection and data security.
