HFW Continues International Expansion with Senior Brussels Partner Hire

16th August 2018

Emmanuel joins HFW from Fieldfisher, where he was a founding partner of the firm's Brussels office and headed its local dispute resolution practice.

The move comes just days after HFW announced that Trowers & Hamlins' international dispute resolution head James Harbridge had joined its fast-growing Dubai office.

The firm has now added 17 new partners so far in 2018, including nine internal promotions and eight lateral hires in Brussels, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Rio de Janeiro and Singapore.

HFW also recently entered into a cooperation arrangement with a Brazilian law firm – its seventh international merger or association since January 2016.

Emmanuel is one of the top disputes partners in Brussels, with over 19 years' experience representing clients in complex and high-value matters before the civil, commercial and criminal courts.

He has particular expertise in fraud, asset recovery and white-collar crime, including cyber crime, and will work closely with the firm's fraud and insolvency teams in London and Paris, led by global practice head Noel Campbell.

Emmanuel is the Belgian member of the International Chamber of Commerce's 'Fraudnet', which the organisation describes as an international network of "the leading civil asset recovery specialists in each country", and is ranked by legal directory Chambers and Partners as a leading individual for white collar crime.

HFW's Brussels office boasts a market-leading aerospace practice and also advises clients on a wide range of European Union and Belgian law issues across commercial, corporate, banking and competition.

Emmanuel Roger France:
"I'm excited to join such a dynamic and fast-growing firm. I've been very impressed with HFW's commitment to outstanding client service and the way that the global fraud and insolvency team work together as a close-knit unit."
